Hello, I’m LaurA Robertson.

Hello, I'm Laura

[Photo choice: a calm professional photo of you works hardest here. If that's a firm no, use your hands at work or the treatment room.]

I'm an acupuncturist based in Edinburgh and East Lothian, and I specialise in fertility, IVF support and hormone health.

My way of working is where East meets West, bringing Chinese medicine and modern biomedicine together. People often tell me I work like a health detective, and honestly, I think that's a fair description. I love getting curious about the whole picture. I want to know about your cycle, sleep, energy, digestion, stress, and any test results you have. Often the answer isn't one big thing. It's a few smaller pieces that, once they're put together, finally make sense of how you've been feeling.

How I got here

I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and graduated in 2020 with a first class honours degree. As my practice grew, I trained in other approaches, including Master Tung style acupuncture.

In 2023, a particularly complex fertility case made me realise how much more I wanted to understand. I enrolled on Naava Carman's Advanced Fertility Diploma, and I haven't looked back since. What I loved most was how it brings Western and Chinese medicine together. It gave me a much clearer view of the things that can quietly get in the way of hormone health and fertility, such as chronic inflammation, stress and environmental toxins, and of how we can actually work on them.

I'm a member of the British Acupuncture Council and the Acupuncture Fertility Network, and I'm Fertility Support trained. I keep learning all the time, because this field moves quickly and you deserve care that keeps up with it.

What working with me is like

Your first appointment is a proper, unhurried look at your health. I'll have read your questionnaire before we meet, so we can use our time to fill in the gaps and get started with treatment. Afterwards you'll receive a written summary with my recommendations, so you're never left wondering what we're doing or why.

I'll always be honest with you about what acupuncture can and can't do. I'm happy to work alongside your GP, consultant or fertility clinic. If I think someone else is better placed to help you, I'll tell you and point you in the right direction.

Away from the clinic

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me walking my dogs along the beach, catching up with family and friends over a coffee (and the odd slice of cake), or on my yoga mat.

Let's talk

My approach suits people who want to really understand what's going on in their body and are ready to be part of the process. If that sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you. You can book your first appointment online, or drop me an email to arrange a free 15 minute discovery call first.

I am an Acupuncturist based in Edinburgh and East Lothian with a special interest in hormone health and fertility. I offer an integrative approach to treatments by working in partnership with you to help explore the pieces of your health puzzle to look at factors that maybe contributing to your current health picture.

I trained at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York, graduating in 2020 with a first class honours degree, and have undertaken training in Master Tung style, Musculoskeletal and facial acupuncture as my practice has grown. In 2023 after finding myself dealing with a challenging fertility case, I enrolled and trained with Naava Carman, a fertility expert and acupuncturist for just under a year on her Advanced Fertility Diploma and haven't looked back since. I loved this training especially the way it blends Western and Chinese Medicine, and in doing so offers a clearer picture into the many aspects and factors that could be contributing to symptoms or conditions many women are facing. By exploring this further offers an opportunity to be focused and actively work with or remove some of these obstacles that get in the way - such as chronic inflammation, stress, toxins to name just a few. I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), Acupuncture Fertility Network, and Fertility Support trained.

When not working you will find me out and about walking my dogs down the beach, spending time with my family and friends either drinking coffee (and having the odd cake!) or on my yoga mat..

If you would like to work with me, and are committed, invested and engaged in piecing together your own health puzzle - please get in touch and we can arrange a free 15 minute discovery call.
